JEWELLERY CARE
We like to define jewellery in line with the saying, “The icing on the cake” - your jewellery pieces should be the last thing you put on before leaving home and the first thing your remove then your return.
The lifespan of jewellery is something no one can guarantee — even the finest pieces will experience wear over time. This doesn’t indicate poor quality; it’s simply the natural process of how materials like steel react to chemicals, air and the surrounding environment in everyday life.
Gold plated jewellery behaves slightly differently — again, this has nothing to do with quality. Our gold plated pieces are crafted with 14 karat gold and feature PVD plating, a highly durable and resilient method that ensures your gold plated jewellery is made to last.
However, gold is a softer material compared to steel, meaning it may wear more easily over time. Treat your jewellery with care and store it thoughtfully to maintain its beauty.
See our care guide below to ensure your jewellery remains in the best possible condition for as long as possible.
GUIDE: HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELLERY?
Even the most durable materials need love and care – here’s how:
Avoid water
Waterproof jewellery? In our opinion, this is a myth. We always recommend that you remove your jewellery before coming into contact with water.
Clean your jewellery
Use a clean, soft cloth to gently clean your jewellery from time to time. This helps remove residues from makeup, lotions and natural oils from the skin that can build up on the surface and make the jewellery appear dull.
Let your jewellery rest
Just like us, your jewellery needs rest - remove them before going to bed.
Store your jewellery properly
Avoid storing your jewellery in damp areas, such as a bathroom. If you do, make sure they are protected in a jewellery box or a drawer. Moisture can affect the metal and cause your jewellery to oxidize faster.
