MATERIAL
SURGICAL STAINLESS STEEL | 316
At AROCK, we are dedicated to choosing materials that meet the highest standards of quality, durability, and sustainability. We ensure that our materials meet the highest standards and strive to create jewellery that never compromises quality or style.
Our jewellery is made of surgical stainless steel (316) - an extremely durable material that withstands most wear and tear without easily scratching or damaging. Because of this, steel jewellery is the perfect choice for everyday wear as steel maintains its shine and finish over time without oxidizing or losing its colour.
Thanks to its hypoallergenic properties, surgical stainless steel is a safe option for customer with sensitive skin. Additionally, our plated jewellery is also safe to wear, as the process of PVD plating is hypoallergenic - the coating is so durable, that it neither flakes nor peels, significantly reducing the risk of skin irritation.
14 KARAT GOLD PLATING | PVD
Get the best of both worlds with our 14 karat gold plating.
Our gold plated pieces are crafted using a technique known as PVD plating (Physical Vapor Deposition). This method is significantly more durable than traditional plating, allowing the colour of our jewellery to last longer before signs of wear, scratches or damage appear on the surface.
Our gold plating provides an exclusive finish that is both affordable and durable enough for everyday wear. The result? Jewellery that is not only beautiful but also designed to stand the test of time.
BLACK PLATING (TiCN) | PVD
Maximum durability and modern aesthetics - our black TiCN plating (Titanium Carbonitride) provides the jewellery with a hard, scratch-resistant surface featuring an elegant, dark finish.
TiCN is one of the most durable platings on the market - with its extremely hard surface, it’s resistant to scratches, wear and corrosion. There is also no risk of it losing its finish, oxidizing or discolouring, as the plating is highly resistant to chemicals. The surface features a dark, metallic hue, with a finish that can either be matte or polished.
Just like all our materials and platings, our black plating is hypoallergenic.
FRESHWATER PEARLS
Welcome to the enchanting world of pearls, where we embrace the unique essence of every pearl - each carrying its own story.
THE HISTORY OF PEARLS
In Greek Mythology, pearls were associated with Aphrodite; the goddess of love and beauty. According to the legend, Aphrodite was born from the sea foam and rose from the water on a seashell — adorned with shimmering pearls, symbolizing the perfection of the sea.
Freshwater pearls trace their origins to ancient China, where they were cultivated in rivers and lakes. Over 2,000 years ago, freshwater pearls were worn as amulets, believed to bring luck, protection, and health.
WHAT ARE PEARLS?
Pearls are organic and incredibly beautiful creations. They are formed inside mussel shells as a defense mechanism when foreign particles, such as a grain of sand or a parasite, enter the shell... And, here comes the magic: To protect itself, the mussel begins to coat the particle with layers of nacre — a substance composed of minerals and proteins naturally produced by mussels. Over time, as these layers build up, a pearl is eventually formed.
OUR FRESHWATER PEARLS
Our freshwater pearls are cultured, meaning they are produced through human care and cultivation. This method allows for sustainable and eco-friendly pearl production, as it helps preserve wild mussel populations.
Since our freshwater pearls are genuine, they, like all organic materials, can naturally come in a variety of colours (including white, cream, pink, beige, and purple) as well as different shades and shapes.
This also means that each piece of jewellery, truly, is unique.
Freshwater pearls do not have any colour coatings, which means they will not lose their colour over time. However, we recommend storing them separately from other jewellery to prevent scratching or damage.
